Supported Accommodation
Since 1989 we have been providing affordable and accessible accommodation and placement options and support to young people aged between 12 and 21 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Sunshine Coast, Hinterland and Cooloola regions.
Options include shared living supported by youth workers, placement within a caring family environment for up to 12 weeks and long term placement with volunteer live-in carers. In the 2006-2007 period, more than 600 young people were assisted through this program. By providing an integrated service with a confidential, case management approach, we have been able to help young people achieve goals such as gain employment, undertake training, further their education, rebuild relationships, develop living skills, and increase self esteem and confidence. We also offer assistance to families and individuals in the community by means of emergency relief, advocacy, counselling and referrals.
