Support after Suicide
StandBy was established by United Synergies in 2002, and has expanded as a national service working in numerous communities across Australia to assist people and communities bereaved by or exposed to suicide. It is estimated that for every suicide between 10 and 100 people are directly affected (approximately 25,350 Australians) making suicide bereavement a population health problem. The National StandBy Service regularly contributes to the field of postvention nationally and internationally and is committed to building the knowledge and evidence base in the areas of suicide prevention, postvention and overall health and wellbeing.
StandBy – Support after Suicide provides 24/7 support to people exposed to or bereaved by suicide across many regions of Australia via a locally based coordinated community response. Visit our website at www.standbysupport.com.au to view the regions.Learn More
