Supported Independent Living
15 - 21 years
Supported Independent Living is care provided by support workers to young people in independent accommodation. The service involves individual or small group living for young people transitioning from full-time statutory care.
The service has a strong focus on:
- Supporting the development of the young person’s life skills and self care
- Assisting young people to improve their social skills and relationships, including with family, peers and other social networks
- Increasing the young person’s access to information and community supports, including future accommodation, health and income
- Facilitating access to education, employment and vocational training opportunities for the young person
