StandBy – Support After Suicide

StandBy is a program of United Synergies and Australia’s leading provider in support after suicide, dedicated to supporting people and communities impacted by suicide. The program is funded by the Australian Government and provides free face-to-face or telephone support to anyone living within a funded region. Locally the program is available in the Central Qld, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast PHN region, with a Coordinator based on the Sunshine Coast and Outreach Workers based in Rockhampton and Bundaberg.  There is also a team of casual StandBy Crisis Support Workers residing throughout the region, available to visit individuals, families and communities in remote and regional areas.

StandBy provides a central point of coordination, connecting people to the most appropriate support in their local area, with follow up contact provided for 12 months.

A local StandBy team member is available to:  

  • understand and respond to your needs
  • be available 24/7 to arrange face-to-face or telephone support
  • offer locally tailored community workshops
  • provide information and referrals to other local organisations.
